Here’s a postcard of Ryelands Lodge in Ryelands Park, Lancaster. The postcard (one from the Well Series), states Ryelands was built in 1837.
The postcard states: “Ryelands Lodge, Ryelands Park/Estate, Lancaster, built 1837 and showing a snowy winter’s scene with snow on Ryelands Lodge, Gate, and Trees.”
The gate, of course, is long gone.
